Thinking about this then brings up the question: "should i build a new PC, because my 8700k starts to get old and a new CPU and GPU would mean that i can play VR in higher quality?". how much more powerfull would a selfbuild be over a NAS based on money spend/power? Is this really needed for a hobby project when someone sometimes up/downloads stuff? Now the big question for myself is "do i buy a NAS or should i build a small PC and install it there". The NAS should be a backup server for videos and music (plex, because that runs on my Samsung TV), but it should also be a server for the UE project to share the project with people that could help.īased on what people said i will install perforce. I know that it doesnt make much sense to load the project over my local network. how do you do it? Do you all use Git?Įdit/update:My wording seemed to confuse people, because i didnt think about this option.I want to keep my workfiles on my PC (extra SSD) and not "oursource" the project to the NAS. There are so many team out there that started on discord and work like this. It would be great to have an easy way to store my project and give someone access to it, so they can download it, have a look and maybe fix something and then upload the fix. Would the Synology be a good choise? What Software do you use to work in UE as a team? I'm thinking about to buy a Synology NAS to use it as a media server.I could also use it as a server Vallheim, but i also want to use it as a server for my UE4 stuff.
